Cassie has always been a role model for me; from the time she was captain of our high school hockey team until now. After playing sports every day for my entire life, I assumed I just naturally had an athletic body and could maintain it while eating whatever I wanted... Once I got to university however, and the sports stopped and the drinking and stress hit a new level, I really let myself go. I struggled with self-confidence and had extremely poor eating habits that would leave me completely drained and sluggish (which in turn would turn into excuses as to why I was “too tired” to exercise). This cycle continued for 3 years until one day some of Cassie’s Instagram posts and Snapchats about her competing in a bikini physique competition motivated me to get in control of my life and my body again. Since then, I’ve lost 25 pounds all while balancing my last year of university socially and academically (without ever feeling like I was restricting myself). The energy, strength and confidence Cassie’s positive outlook on life and fitnessinspires me every single day to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be!

I started to train with Cassie because I wanted to become stronger and gain confidence in the gym. Before seeing Cassie my workouts consisted of 30 boring minutes on the elliptical and maybe a yoga class here or there. I had never even stepped foot inside the weight section of the gym. Cassie took the time to teach me the basics of weight-training, encouraged me to push myself and keep learning on my own. Cassie doesn't just tell you what to do, she gives you the tools you need to succeed with or without her. Two years later I am training 5 days a week on my own, giving tips to my friends, and joining Cassie's bootcamp group when I want a boost of Cassie's truly infectious positivity. I am also happy to report that my workouts are now elliptical-free and I've never felt better!

I am 5’2″ with a small build but was 145 lbs. I worked out regularly but saw it as a chore that I had to drag my butt off to the gym and get it over with. I had a chronic insatiable appetite for sweets, salty and junk food, and was always groggy waking up in the morning. I would stay in bed for 12+ hours on weekends and still felt tired. Cassie has changed ALL these! It is because of her inspiration and leadership that my eating habits changed drastically. Cravings for junk food curbed for good. No drugs and no diet pills, Cassie’s inspiration on delicious yet healthy food enables me to eat without feeling that I am suffering. I feel energized and continuously experience the increased level of cardiovascular fitness. I can make it through a whole bootcamp class without wanting to puke and die. I no longer need to stay in bed for 12 hours in weekends and get so much more out from a day! I am a new woman, a much happier, and I'm able to spread positive energy to those around me. I was a size 6/8, and now weigh 119lbs and a size 2/4!!! I continue to get leaner and fitter, and I don’t even feel like I am trying. Cassie gave me the knowledge and skills to feel confident in the gym and love working out! I had never had a gym membership before and was terrified of approaching the weights in the gym for fear of not knowing how to properly use the equipment and no idea of which exercises to do. With Cassie as a personal trainer, I got past this fear as with each session she taught me proper form and a HUGE variety of exercises, all while providing a seriously killer workout! Now that my PT sessions have ended, I feel confident going to the gym on my own and developing my own workouts. I often get compliments on my form and workout routines from others in the gym, which I truly believe is a testament to Cassie’s amazing teaching abilities! I continue to do group Bootcamp sessions run by Cassie twice a week because I simply can’t get enough of her infectious positive energy! I used to dread working out. I'm not kidding. I worked out maybe once per month and even then I came up with a million excuses for doing one less sit up or five less burpees. Cassie really changed that for me. Beyond changing the very shape of my body and helping me lose a lot of weight, Cassie changed my perspective on health and fitness. It wasn't her knowledge of weight training and nutrition that got me to the gym everyday; those things helped me see results. What got me to the gym everyday was her contagious energy. We had a lot of fun together at every workout and before I knew it not only was I squatting 1.5 times my body-weight, I had generally become a very active person. Out of my own volition, I would show up at the gym regularly, do one extra sit up and, sometimes, I would even push myself to do those five extra burpees.

I have been training with Cassie for more than a year now. I have to say Cassie is a gem! She motivates you to work hard and eat healthy. She puts a lot of effort and thoughts in each session with her clients.  She is very fun and caring, always asks you how your body feels at beginning of each session and adjusts the workout accordingly. My strength and endurance improved so much over the year: 10 minutes mile run down to 7 minutes 40 seconds; 30 seconds plank up to 2 minutes; 15 sit ups up to 40 per minute; ZERO push ups up to 20, etc. I am very happy to get to know Cassie and she is truly a great influence on my healthier lifestyle.

My fitness journey started about 2 years ago when I decided I needed to make a change in my life and start focusing on my personal health. Initially I had signed up with Cassie to learn the basics of working out and get me started on losing those last pesky few pounds. Cassie became my personal trainer in Sept 2014 and I trained with her until probably the day I left Toronto in Sept 2015. She was literally a breath of fresh air that I needed in my life and my personal training.  I have had personal trainers since my late 20s and Cassie really helped me get out of the rut I was in where I was training but not changing things up and consequently not seeing results. It only took a few months for people to start noticing the positive changes in my appearance – I look leaner and more toned. Cassie tailored a plan for me where we focused on key areas of my body for a number of weeks at a time. To be honest, from a training perspective, every session felt different which was perfect for me and Cassie usually had a spin on things to make it different and sometimes incorporated new ways of doing things which always mixed it up. The more I trained with Cassie the more I saw results, much more so than I have with other trainers in the past. In addition to working out, she provided consistent motivation and encouragement to eat healthy and adopt a healthy lifestyle – she provided me shopping plans, recommended meal plans and local stores where I could buy products. Meeting Cassie for the first time for bootcamps made all my fears and nerves of not being fast enough or strong enough disappear. Checking in with Cassie twice a week really helped motivate myself to take control of my fitness and push myself harder. Throughout the fall and winter I increased my workouts on my own, started to really focus on my eating habits and gain more confidence in myself. I noticed my stress level going down quite quickly and my motivation to sleep better, work harder and be stronger increase greatly with each bootcamp class. Cassie has demonstrated so much care and love for her clients while always remaining professional and encouraging us to be better, more positive and happy. I tried Cassie’s class on a whim over a year and half ago and I have been hooked ever since! I have encouraged lots of my friends to try the class/sign-up and even convinced both my brothers to join – making it a weekly family gathering for the Candlish’s…we are a lot to handle so I apologize to Cassie and everyone else in the class. Physically – I have been battling a shoulder injury for the better part of 7 years and through my commitment to therapy and working with Cassie I finally have less pain and am working on slowly increasing my shoulder strength. I have also noticed changes in overall strength, endurance and energy levels. Mentally – this class has been amazing for my mental health. Coming into it I was already in pretty good shape however was struggling to find new gym routines, classes, and people to work out with. I now have a commitment twice a week that I love – the people are amazing, the workouts are always different and challenging and well…the music is on point!

I am someone who has worked out for most of my life – running, spinning, weights, classes – but felt that I needed a pick me up. To my rescue was Cassie. Never, ever have I been pushed so hard in my life!! Never! I have joined several bootcamps and all of them pale in comparison to her classes. What this loud, petite, kick-ass woman makes you do (with a smile on her face) is unreal! Her classes are 60 minutes of nonstop sweaty, heart pounding WORK. You are lucky if she gives you 30 seconds to catch your breath and grab a sip of water and I love her for this. I should say that they are also fun. Great people, great music and most importantly a great workout! I feel invigorated after each class and can’t wait to do it all again! Cassie, I need you in my life forever!!

I initially heard about Cassie through two friends who were doing her bootcamp twice a week. I was going through a low energy, low confidence phase in my life. I was having lower back pain that really made any movement difficult. The workouts I was doing weren’t helping and I didn’t feel motivated to do the things I usually love.  I confided in this friend, who suggested I try Cassie’s bootcamp. To be honest, after the class I didn’t feel so great, BUT I knew it was because my body and brain were challenged, and it was just what I needed, so I signed up immediately. Cassie’s classes are high energy, motivating and tons of fun. She supports a community of people to be better and do better. She offers alternative exercises if you are sore or injured, which made me feel comfortable knowing that I wouldn’t experience back pain in class. She even took the time to support our group with healthy eating habits. She encouraged me to set strength and nutrition goals for myself, and after six weeks of hard work and eating clean, I am three pounds lighter, so much stronger, back pain is GONE, and I have so much energy. I also feel confident and happy. I am still training with Cassie and want to for as long as possible!
